Study Shows How Zika Virus Could Cause Fetal Brain Defects

The Zika virus is capable of quickly infecting and harming developing fetal brain cells, scientists said on Friday in a study that provides insight into how the virus might cause the birth defect microcephaly in fetuses exposed in the womb. 3-D Printed Biomedical Device To Rapidly Detect Anaemia

US researchers have developed an inexpensive prototype of a biomedical device that can detect anaemia simply by running a blood sample from a finger prick under a smartphone. The device consists of 3-D printed clear plastic slides containing microfluidics that attach to a smartphone. Government restores customs duty exemption on three drugs

Within days of withdrawing customs duty exemption on a host of life saving drugs, the government today restored exemption on three of those drugs that are mainly used for treatment of hormonal disorders, growth failure and haemophilia.
